Water Based Whiteboard Paint (Make In Taiwan) 50 sqf

Whiteboard Paint transforms your surface into a writable and erasable surface. Great for craft projects, office, message board and more.

Surface Preparation
Make sure surface to be painted are sound, clean, dry. Remove any loose, defective paint or powdery residue. Repair crack, uneven surfaces with suitable filler. Smoothen the filler areas with sandpaper. Clean the area thoroughly to make sure the area is free from dirt, grease, oil, mildew and dusty residue. Prime bare wood and newly plastered surface with suitable primer and Emulsion Paint, Latex paint or even Ready Mixed Paint. Sand textured or rough surfaces to a smooth, level area (suggest 120-240 sand paper). Remove any dust before painting. A smooth surface creates the best whiteboard.

Instruction
Mix the Base and Hardener at the ratio of 2:1 and stir well. We suggest to make some calculation before mixing or pour out the Base at the ratio of 200cc and 50cc Hardener into a separate can for mixing to avoid wastage of paint. The pot life / working life of the mixed component is around 5 hours. Please use up all the mixture within the time frame. Viscosity of the mixture after two hours will turn out to be milky white gel-like. This is the natural course of mixture reaction and the paint is still usable. Stir Paint thoroughly after mixing. Rainbow Water-Based Whiteboard Paint comes ready to use, dilute with a maximum of 5% water if required to the mixture. DO NOT add any water directly to the hardener. Stir regularly during application. Theoretical Coverage of Rainbow Whiteboard Paint is around 10M2 per Liter.

Application
Rainbow Whiteboard Paint (tough film, glossy, transparent) work only as topcoat and base coat (Emulsion Paint or Latex Paint) is required prior to the application of Rainbow Whiteboard Paint.

1. Newly Untreated Surface
Prime the surface with suitable primer, leave it to dry. Apply Emulsion Paint / Latex Paint / Ready Mixed Paint to make the base coat. Ensure the surface is covered thoroughly. Sand the Paint surface lightly (suggest using 120 -240 sand paper) to smoothen the surface as uneven surface will affect the performance of the whiteboard paint. Cosmetically, avoid sanding off the color as this coat eventually work as the base color / base coat. We suggest the coating to be at least two coats. For DIY users, we recommend to apply using dense foam paint roller. Use roller tray or paint pan to prevent under-loading or over-loading of roller. We suggest interval application of the coating in vertical, then horizontal direction to reduce streak, drips and lap marks. Repeat the application direction when more coat is required. Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before applying Rainbow White Board Paint.

2. Painted Surface
Ensure the condition of the painted surface is free from defect, dry, clean and free from contaminants. Repair any defect and repaint the surface with suitable paint if required. Leave it to dry for at least 24 hours. Ensure the paint and the color is in good condition before applying Rainbow White Board Paint.

Application Method: Polyester Brush / High Density Foam Roller / Conventional Spray or Airless Spray¡£
For DIY Users, we recommend to apply using high density foam roller, also known as dense foam paint roller. Mix the Base and Hardener at the ratio of 4:1, Stir Well. Apply the mixture smoothly onto the Paint coating and leave to dry. Use roller tray or paint pan to prevent under-loading or over-loading of roller. We suggest interval application of the coating in vertical, then horizontal direction to reduce streak, drips and lap marks. Repeat the application direction when more coat is required. Successive coat can be apply after 2 hours, if re-application is after 5 days, we suggest to sand the surface with 400 sand paper before application to scuff the surface in order to increase adhesive. At least two coats is required for better result. If you want the smoothest finish possible, then wait until the first coat is dry (around 2 hours), very lightly sand with very fine sand paper (Suggest using 400 – 800 sand paper) to remove any dust and bumps, wipe it clean with a slightly damp cloth or tact rag, let it dry or buff it dry with a dry cloth, then apply the next coat. Ensure dust free surroundings during application process and during drying time. (drying times differ due to humidity and room temperature)

Once finish, wait for 7 days and you can start to enjoy and have fun with your worked craft!
